Using Internet Explorer and OS 8-9 or OS X: bin files are still not automatically decoded, try the following: #FIND STUFFIT EXPANDER MAC OS# NOTE: If you're not using it already, it's a good idea to download the current version of Internet Explorer. In Internet Explorer, select 'Preferences' from the 'Edit' menu (OS 8-9) or the 'Application menu' (OS X). Make sure the following checkboxes are ON: Select 'Download Options' from the list to the left in the 'Preferences' dialog. Select 'File Helpers' from the list to the left in the 'Preferences' dialog. Make sure that the list contains entries for MacBinary and BinHex files. When StuffIt Expanders icon darkens, release the mouse button. If there are no entries for MacBinary and BinHex files, click the 'Add.' button and make Stuffit Expander the 'Helper' application for those file types-make sure that 'Application' is set to Stuffit Expander in both the 'File Type' and 'Handling' frames. StuffIt Expander will open and decode the file, and then quit. Double-click StuffIt Expanders icon, and wait for it to open. From the File menu, select Expand, and in the window that appears, find the file you want to decode. StuffIt Expander will then decode the file. NOTE: If you not using it already, it is a good idea to download the current version of Netscape. If you can find Stuffit, drag the file onto the Stuffit Expander icon to open it.

StuffIt Expander is a proprietary, freeware, closed source, decompression software utility developed by Allume Systems (a subsidiary of Smith Micro Software formerly known as Aladdin Systems). Select 'Preferences' from the 'Edit' menu. If you cannot find Stuffit, you can download it from When Stuffit is done, you will have a folder on your desktop with a name starting MAC SSH, containing the expanded files. Open it to see the files inside, as shown below. It runs on the classic Mac OS, macOS, and Microsoft Windows.
